My cat twitches while she is sleeping. Is this normal?
Answers:
That is 100% completely normal! I have 2 pomeranians and they twitch in their sleep too and my vet said they are actually dreaming and we do the same in our sleep- little twitches are totally normal! Kitty is just fine!
It usually happens when they are dreaming.
Yes. They are just dreaming. If you lightly tap their paws(left right left right), they will think they are running--chasing something.
Yes, it is experiencing REM sleep. All mammals experience it, it is the stage in which we dream and it is when we get the most rest. REM stands for rapid eye movement but twitching is normal too.
yes mine do it too.maybe they are dreaming huh?
Yes, I have had many cats do this. I always assume they are dreaming. I have even seen their mouths move like they do when they see a bird in their sleep. Sometimes if I see them acting really strange I wake them up. LOL.
yes its normal..it means she is dreaming
yes. all the countless cats we've had have done that.
yeah alot of cats dream just like we do. when they twitch they may be running after something or away from something.
I'd say your kitty is pretty normal. It is kind of like RIM sleep in in humans. Cats have a differnt rythym of sleep than us but it gives you the idea. Maybe they're dreaming, no one will ever know. Now if your cat is vilantly jerking I would say that you need to get Kitty a vet appointment. If it's just slight muscle movement then she/he is just fine. :D
Yes it is normal. Dogs do it too.
my cat does the same thing to so i think its normal
