cats fleas?

how long can cat fleas live outside from their host
Answers:
100 days or longer and they multiply fast! you can have over 1 million eggs in about a month (50 to 100 per day). if they don't live on your pet, they can live in the carpet and feed themselves scraps and they can bite humans too.

There are LOTS of information and advices somewhere around here that I've and others answered (i'd say few days ago to a week ago) to get rid of fleas. One i can say is sprikle Borax (20 mule team) and salt on the carpet and broom the solution so they can go through deeper in the carpet and leave it there for a day or two but if you have cat, you'll have to vaccum up the surface about an hour or two just to protect your cat's paws. And the rest can stay in deep in the carpet and it'll dry up the eggs and larve. Once the coons hatch, salt will kill Adult fleas soon as possible. The soultion will last you about a year but i'll recommend repeat every three to four months.

Sadly, it's a life battle and it will never go away.
fleas can live up to 3month oustside the host, there is various flea sprays available in the markets for spraying home and carpets for fleas.
It depends on your climate. If you are in a place where the weather is turning colder, then you will probably be able to stop flea treatment from now until March or April, unless your cat has fleas right now. If so, then you need to kill those fleas that are on the cat now.
Not very long, usually a day or so, depends on how clean your house is.
thing is with fleas, once you have them it is extremely hard to get rid of them, you must bathe the cat, bug bomb the house and then do it again 2-3 weeks because the eggs actually survive the poison.
Not very long but remember they can use humans as hosts too!
