Cat's BM is smelly?

Why is it that my cat's poop smells sooo bad when I always feed him the same food. Never wet food. He gets dry food, and water. no treats either. He eats Purina Cat Chow, Indoor Formula. ALWAYS. What should I do?
Answers:
You are using a cat food that is 2/3 corn and not very digestible for your cat so the bulk of it comes out in smelly poop.

You need to go to a better food (nothing from the grocery store, even expensive Science Diet). Quality cat foods use brown rice, oats, pea, millet etc. for their fillers and their meats are not by-product meat (heads, feet, entrails, feathers etc.)

Some choices would be Eagle Pack, Solid Gold Katzen Flocken, CA Natural (most expensive), Natural Balance, Felidae, Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul (this has a lot of grain and the meat is good quality) You might pay 50 cents to $1.00 more for a bag of food and the results will be impressive in better nutrition for your cat and more digestible food.

Don't always feed you cat the same food. It is much better to have a variety of protein source in a cat's food - such as turkey, duck, lamb etc. rather than just chicken all his life.

To switch from one dry food to another click on my name at the icon for the "recipe" to do it successfully.
Check with a vet.
As far as I know -- Cat poop has always stunk. Next question please :D
Your cat must be sneaking some mice on the side! Change to IAMs, or another good cat food, see if that takes care of it.
It's the meat in the food that makes the poop smell. Wet or dry, it all become wet in your cat's intestines. Whether you vary the diet or not, meat will always be stinky upon cat butt exit.

You can't do anything except get a good litter (Tidy Cat is great) or turn your cat into a vegetarian (which I do NOT recommend).
poop is poop and it all stinks. My cat's is very stinky too.
I never knew of any poo that smelled good. However, as a general recommendation and i'm sure the Vet would agree.Science Diet Indoor. The reason for many who use this is because there are no animal bi-products in the food, unlike purina.
I fed my older cat that, and it didnt seem to effect him. You could try a different formula, Purina One is really nice.

If you do switch food, make sure you do it gradually. Mix it together, then less of the old and more of the new, then all new. This way your cats body gets used to the change.

As always, it could be something wrong with the cat. Check his stool- is it soft? bloody? If you notice something wrong, then take him to the vet.

sounds like it could just be the food though..good luck. you sound like a great owner.
kitty poop just smells bad.If the smell is too much, get mulicat cat litter
Okay, so I have a cat. The BM's are not smelly since she is a vegan. Try giving your cat veggies, not only do the BM's smell good but they also turn the prettiest green color you can imagine.
Cat poop always smells kinda funky, but if it smells worse than usual, then you've got an issue. You might try changing his food. maybe Purina has changed some ingredients in their food, or he's developed an allergy to something in it. However, it's more likely that he found something about the house (if he's strictly an indoor cat) or outside if he's not, that he wasn't supposed to eat. If you've got houseplants, that's a good guess. Finally, he may have some sort of gastrointestinal illness, especially if he's an older cat (I'd say seven or older). If this persists for a long time, gets worse, he seems to develop other symptoms, or you're really concerned, take him to the vet.
and your bm does it smell like roses
Buy a meat based food for your cat. It'll poop less and not smell as bad. Also, use a good cat litter like Fresh Step. Never use corn or grain based foods or foods with by products. Authoraty (Pet Smart brand) is good.
change to natural choice complete care indoor
Give him more water,PLEASE!
