I have a young female Cat named Church who hunts field mice she brings them home drops them in front of me Church also leaves her dead Mice at my porch door too and I'm getting tired of finding these half decaptitated rodents in the morning.
Anything I can do to discourage this?

She is bringing you "gifts." She considers them as gifts anyway. It is unsafe to let a cat roam free outdoors. You may have fields around you but that means you also have coyotes, raccoons, and other animals around, and she could be injured - or worse by one of them. Most cats who roam outdoors (even for a short time) end up not coming back because something has befallen them. There is NO WAY to discourage your cat from bringing the mice, as that is in a cat's nature. I hope she has had all her vaccinations and been spayed. Do her and yourself a favor and keep her indoors. She will be much safer and if she has toys and attention, etc., she will be perfectly happy.

Put a bell around your cats neck then they won't be able to catch the mice.
The cat thinks you will be very happy cuz you are being brought dinner LOL.
Anyway did you know that an Indoor cat will live longer than an outdoor cat, unless you live way out in the country?

Probably not. Cats have been highly valued by humans for thousands of years because of their ability to help keep rodent populations under control. So she is "doing what comes naturally" just like her ancestors.
She is actually doing you a favor by keeping them away from your house. As long as she is getting them from a field she is not liable to get one which has been poisoned by humans so the mice will do her no harm.
Be glad that Church leaves the carcasses outside! Your cat is simply showing you something that she is proud to have caught. When I was little, our family cat discarded a dead gopher in his dinner bowl. My mom noticed it after she caught me pounding it with a potato masher!

She is just showing you her respect. When cats bring your their catch, it is the same thing as a human bringing you flowers.
yea keep the cat inside, it won't keep bringing you field mice, and it will probably live longer.
Most cats do that, its mainly because they think if they do this its a good thing and u will like it, they dont know it grosses us out lol just pick it up and dispose of it theres really no way around it unfortunatley.
no she's only showing how good she can kill the rats for you so they dont get in the house, she doesent eat them because you feed her very well why eat a rat if you can get something better.
A bell on the collar is a good idea although I'm not so sure it will be enough warning for mice, it certainly is for birds. You can avoid both by not letting kitty outside. They will get used to not being out. I have 2 cats and one of them has paws that have never touched grass.
Well its just a gift. Be glad she kills them, Mine brings them home and brings them in the house to play then lets them go. we are constantly trapping mice and rats.
