Cat with an ulcerated eye?

My son (he's grown and on his own) brought his cat to the vet. Eye problems. The vet said the eye is ulcerated and gave him medication and an ointment. The cat will survive and she will not lose her eye. On the phone my son asked me if this will leave scarring on the eye. Our family cat (12 yrs old) has scarring on the eye since we rescued him. Do not know where it came from. Will my son's 1 yr old cat have scarring from this ulceration of the eye?
Answers:
It seems as though you guys caught the ulcer, and treated it fairly early, quickly, and successfully, so I would say no. Also, because he's a young cat, he would have greater chances at healing.
However, I'm not 100% sure, so I can't give you a definite answer. You could have your son call his vet to find out, though.
That is a question only your son's vet can answer. Tell your son that it is very important to follow the medication/ointment instructions that his vet gave him. Good Luck.
If the ulcer does not fully heal or the medication is not given then there may be some scarring. As long as the eye sight is not diminished then there should not be a problem
