Are cat whiskers sensitive or do the hurt when you touch them because at time when I pet my cat and accidenlty touch his whiskers he opens his mouth kind when i touched the whisker as if it hurts or sumthing

Hi there. the whisker hairs (also called vibrissae ) themselves do not feel anything, but the whiskerpads which connects each whisker are supplied with sensitive nerve endings. The whiskers give cats extraordinarily detailed information about air movements, air pressure and anything they touch. Perhaps your kitty's whiskerpads are more sensitive than usual when you touch the whiskers. If he doesn't cry or react aggressively he is alright.
your cats whiskers are how they feel to see if the hole will get them stuck in it or not. yes they have feeling in them.
they are used to sense things, they are stiff hairs attached to sensitive nerves in their faces
It shouldn't hurt.. I think they're just sensitive. Cats use their whiskers for balance and to get through tight spaces. My cat sometimes will open up her mouth if I touch her whiskers in a certain way.
The are sensitive, but it is more of a reaction to the touch and not necessarily pain
I think that it actually tickles them when you touch them. I don't think that it hurts them. my cat always used to yawn after I would pet her face and whiskers.
I think they are sensitive, but they only hurt if you pull on them or poke them in. Stroking them doesn't hurt.
Whiskers help your cat assess distances and widths. They are sensory appendices that help your cat figure out whether or not they can fit through a doorway or window. Without them they wouldn't be able to make the distinction and judge correctly.
They're used to feel the size of spaces to determine if they can go through them, but they don't necessarily feel pain. My cat does the same thing as your cat - I imagine it thinks that something is closing in on it, so it needs to get it out of the way.
When I was little, not knowing any better, I clipped all on my cat's wihiskers off. It did not seem to hurt him at the time and they did grow back. But boy did I ever get in trouble for it when my parents saw her without any and I confessed to clipping them off with fingernail clippers.
No cat whiskers are not painful to the cats. I like to make my kittykat mad by pulling on hers until she slaps me or bites me hand LOL!
