Oh Yes they do they mostly go by the how they look tho
yes there are hundreds of breeds of cats!! they vary by color, hair length and features just like dogs and birds!
Yes, you have your tabbys, calicos, Persians, etc.
yes, cats have different breeds just like dogs do. There are currently 39 breeds that are recognize by the cat fancers society to show, with different colors and fur lengths in each breed. So there are hundreds of different kitty colors and types. check out the link, it will give you more info!
yes they do
Cats have MANY different names and breeds. I would be here all day if I tried to tell you them all. But the most common of cats are the Tabby, which are normally two different colours, like grey and white, or orange and white, or black and grey. My favourite breed is Siamese, they can be temperamental but I have always had them. You can also get Persians which are very fluffy cats. Though I don't tend to like how much they shed. Get a cats for dummies book, it give you all the different breeds and colours and history.:)
I have worked in a Vet hospital for the last 41/2 years, and yes cats come in many different breeds. And there is also a huge list of colors. check it out on the web, some breeds are: Manx, domestic long and short hair, Persian, etc.
Cats come in all different breeds and colours. The most common in north America is the "domestic short/long hair"
I have 2 DSH one is a orange %26 white the other is a Calico. that is what color they are. The orange and white has huge patched of both colors. The calico has patches of black white and orange.

Back to breeds, there are also cross breeds I did at one time have a miss between a russian Blue and a Siamese.
plenty of them
. like people . Persian . Angora . Siames.. etc., ..
Yes, cats have different breeds. There are two different sources to go to if you want to get a full list of the breed types. CFA (Cat Fancier's Association) and TICA. Not all of the TICA breeds are recognized by CFA and the other way around. For example, I have two Bengal cats. CFA has no listing on them, so they are registered by TICA.

Besides the breed there are desriptions for their coat patterns, calico, tabby, point, seal point, lynx point, marble, snows, etc. These are not breeds of cats but are just pattern descriptions.
Yes and no. There are pedigreed cats www.cfa.org which are different breeds. There is the world of mixed breeds, where I got my cat and everyone is unique and looks different and just is perfect as he/she is. Some breeds have been around for years like the Siamese, and some are relatively new. Most pedigreed cats, are expensive but if you really have to have one sometimes you can get a rescue or a retired breeding queen for less money than a brand new perfect kitten. Check around the web. Go to a cat show. It's fun.
Yes there's all kinds of cats.
