got my 2yr old newly adopted cat neutered friday. Will he change much? anyone else have a sexually mature cat get neutered?

He would be the same cat he was/is.

He will probably be a bit more mellow (less possesive about things being HIS!), but for the most part he should be the same.
If you continue treating him as you always have, he is unlikely to change, though he will need several days to heal before his normal personality kicks in fully.
My old cat was around two when he got neutered as well. We bought him a huge pillow bed and he spent about a week just laying on it and pouting. He did get fatter and lazier, but essentially he was the same cat as he was before.
i have three cats and have had others in the past.right now i have
one male.all of my cats have been spayed and/or neutered and
i have never experienced anybody ever changing for that reason..i have heard the same myth about dogs, that having them neutered would settle them down..that's false, my dog's just as crazy today as he was the day i brought him in, hasn't changed a bit.
