Cat Question?

My cat just recently starting getting all these scabs all over her body. I thought it might be fleas but I gave her flea medication a few weeks ago and they're only getting worse. They're pretty big too any ideas?
Answers:
Over the counter flea medications really don't work all that well. They may kill a few of the fleas but they don't protect against new ones, and if the cat has fleas, there are fleas in the house as well.
My reccomendation is to take the cat to the Vet, he may be allergic to fleas and that is what is causing all the scabs, the vet can give you real flea meds(ie advantage or frontline) and possibly a cortisone shot to the cat if that is what the problem is. Or it may be something else entirely, and the Vet would be able to help you with that.
Trust me, if it is fleas, you will want to take care of the problem before it becomes an infestation in your house!
take it to the vet the medication isnt working
Your cat could have allergies, you need to take her to the vet and be checked out. I'm sure they can give you medicine to clear up the scabs. Good Luck KG
Sounds like hotspots or ringworm, take her to the vet, I honestly am not that knowledga ble about cats %26 what to do.
I have two cats and a dog who have allergies that cause sores on the skin. They get shots regularly.
The most likely cause is an allergy. Cats are very prone to allergies. Their autoimmune system tends to over react to certain enviornmental stimulus leading to itching, scabs, diarrhea and vomiting. The most common causes are contact, food, flea and inhalant. Many cats form allergic reactions to the dander of their own fur!

Solutions: Bathe the cat (but don't use your own tongue). Clean the home. Change flea collars and litter box. Change food. Remove all inhalants and other addictive substances from within the cats reach..I'm kidding! If none of that works, consult your vet.
Could be mange or a skin infection, needs a trip to the vet!
Cats, especially outdoor cats, can pick up ringworm or other fungal infections of the skin. It's a fungus, just like humans can get (athlete's foot, etc).
Anyhow, my cat had a sore on her back and the hair fell out around it. Soon one ear went bald and there were other spots. So I took her to the vet right away and they said it was a fungal infection. They can give her a medicinal bath similar to a flea dip but it's not flea medicine. It's a Lyme-sulfur solution that makes the cat's fur reek like rotten eggs for a few days. Also, they have to dip the cat once a week for 3 or 4 weeks! So, it kinda sucks for you and the cat. The good news is that it's not terribly expensive and it seems to work really well. My cat is fine now; totally healthy.
This could be the case with your cat. I'd take her to a vet ASAP!!
go to TheCatSite.com I was just there %26 there are some good answers to this problem by cat lovers
