Cat problem?

How to teach my kitties to pee in the right area? Nearly every morning I wake up, there is a yellow pond in the kitchen waiting for me.
Answers:
Put the litter box on top of the spot where they are peeing. Then little by little move the box to a more appropriate location. Also look at where the box is placed. If it is in a high traffic, noisy or near the food they may avoid it. Good Luck!
put litter on the pee on the kitchen the pick up the pee soked litter and put it in the litter box she will smell that its my pee so im supose to go there do that everytime she poops on the floor too ;)
I'm sure you are eager to solve this problem--the stink of cat urine is very strong and would be particularly difficult to take in a kitchen..,. In order to help you, we need more information. How many kitties? What ages are they? How many litter boxes in the household? Is this a new behavior (in other words did they used to use the box properly?)? Are your kitties strictly indoor cats?
well, if it isn't on the carpet, that is good at least! i have always just put my kittens into the litter box and they always instinctively dig %26 go right away. perhaps instinct is not the issue. maybe the kitten does not like the litter you are using. try traditional gravel-type litter. i have had problems with older cats when using the crystals or anything else, for that matter. how big of a house do you have? maybe the litter box is too far away for him to make it on time. little kitties=little bladders. if you have more than one cat, then you need to have one litter box for each cat +1. yeah. and they need to be set apart from eachother. that is what our vet told us.

ok, so try all of our advice %26 if that doesn't work.. call your vet!
rub the area with either a lemon or orange cleaner to stop any preferance for that area. It may be a case of 'I can't make it in time' so put another litterbox on that floor in an out of the way area (if you have more than one floor that is).

Get the litterbox in another design or colour as this my be influencing their decision on using the litter box.

A good rule for cats is two for one and three for two. Always out-number the cats with litterboxes as one cat won't always use a box another uses on general prinicpal.

*Clean* them *every* day if they smell, to the cat they won't use it.

If you use a clummping litter switch to a brand that doesn't clump because they might not like the feel of the clumping litter or scented to unscented. I

f they used the litterbox at the breeder's or shelter use the type they use, cat's don't like changes.

They already know to use the litterbox its one of the skills that the mother teaches them.

Praise them everytime you see them use it and give them a treat this will help establish a scent pattern.
U can try to tour your cats around the house, show them to the litter and they should just do that. keep your kitchen smelling citrus. they hate that. So maybe u can spray heaps of those before you go bed?
Best way and only way are the way Jett a lady said!! but to Add to this is pick the cat up then put her in the litter box. i sure she will use the box from now on. but please keep the box clean at all times!! pick a time that's right for you once a week to put new litter in the box. cats love it when it's clean.
You should use something like a scented cleaning product to discourage the cat from that area, and make sure that the litterbox is nowhere near the cat's food because if it's near where they eat then cats won't like to use that litterbox. My cat doesn't use a litterbox but we have a big garden and we don't have to worry about snow because it never snows much here apart from out on the farms and on the mountains. Just try to encourage your cat to use the litterbox and watever you do don't hit it or it or anything like that because it won't understand.
Use unscented litter and don't put a lot in the litter box cats are very sure footed and do not like the feeling they are sinking. Only use about and inch or so in the box. Also put the box in a quite spot kitties don't like to do their business where there is a lot of noise or spectators!
What I would do is place the litter box in the kitchen for a couple of days, then move it to a different are. Once they get use to going in the littler box it won't matter where you put it. They will sniff it out and your worries will be over.
i tat my kitten to pee in a cat box. first every time she was getting ready to pee i put her in a cat box and whenever i came home i put her in the cat box shell learn!
First, does the cat have access to the box and is it clean? Cats won't use a litter box if it's too dirty.

Do the cats know where the box is?
If the answers are yes, your cat might have a urinary tract infection or other type of kidney problems and it might not be a bad idea to see the vet for a checkup. Especially if the cat previously used the box.

If it's both cats doing this and you're sure it's not any medical problem then try this. Every night before you go to bed put the cat's front paws in the litter box and (make sure it's clean now) dig at the litter a few times like the cat would. The cat should get the idea even if they don't use it that instant. Also, try waking up early a few times and showing the cat the litter box again. Some cats are strange about "going in the house" and run around holding it but ultimatly end up not only going in the house but going someplace they aren't supposed to go in the house. They also might not want to use a litter box if it's in a place they don't feel secure in.

If you keep showing them the box they'll get the idea.
