We have a number of cats. One of them is a young 1 yr old female who is not spayed. The two neutered males we have still act "horny" around her and try to mount not her, but their spayed sister. Any explaination?

It is not uncommon for a castrated cat to mount inanimate objects or other cats, regardless of their sex. Neutering reduces male behaviors but does not always eliminate them. This is true because the pathways in the brain related to gender-based behavior are formed before the animal is even born. The presence of testosterone prompts sexual behavior in males. But because of this "hard wiring" of the brain, the elimination of the hormone--after neutering, for instance--does not guarantee that these behaviors will be eliminated
Male animals will mount any handy female if she will let them.So what you have is one willing and another unwilling and the males being neutered don't care as long as they can play their games.

i advide would be take her to the vet to get her check out and they will problely tell u wot rong with her.

If she's not spayed, then she will still emit pheremones when in heat. My brother has the same exact set up as you do, 2 neutered males with an unneutered female. Just nature taking its course, as long as she's receptive.
I would get the female cat spayed as soon as possible as that will fix the boys mounting of her.
I have a gelding who had an old mare as a friend and when she passed on, I got him another mare a younger mare who once she went into heat, he tried to mount her like he was a real stallion but nothing came of it. It is the same thing with the neutered males mounting the unspayed female cat.
Since I can't spay my mare, I keep her penned when she comes into heat. But spaying the female cat will do good to prevent her from escaping the house when she's in heat and finding a tom to screw around with and having kittens.
Unless you want more cats, then leave her whole.
