Classic red tabby?

MY WIFE HAS 2 MALE CATS. 1 JET BLACK AND ONE RED CLASSIC TABBY BOTH ABOUT 10 MONTHS OLD OR SO. QUESTION IS; THE RED TABBY WILL CRAWL UP ON MY WIFES STOMACH AND (FOR LACK OF BETTER WORDS PAW AT HER). ITS LIKE HE IS TRYING TO KNEED DOUGH. WHEN HE DOES IT ITS SOFT BUT FIRM AND THEN HE GENERALLY LAYS DOWN. ANYONE GOT HINTS AS TO WHAT THIS MIGHT BE.
Answers:
It's called kneading. That's what cats do. That and purring. He's just comfortable with her. They do that before they go to sleep.
He loves her thats all.
"This behavior is a throw-back to when they were kittens, nursing their mom. Kneading on their mothers tummy, helped the milk come down, and it is a "comfort" thing for them. Sort of like a baby with a pacifier. it gives them comfort. It is an honor for your cat to choose you to knead on."
My cats do it all the time. It's kind of soothing if they don't stick their nails in you.
He's PU$$YFOOTING just like he would on his mommy. It's a comforting habit and he loves his new mommy.
Most affectionate cats (male and female) do this to people they love.
He's kneading her. (Just getting comfy on her belly) before he lays down. Most cats do it.
I call it "making biscuits." It goes back to when they were kittens, they would do that to get milk out of the mom cat as they fed. It's a comfort to them, and the kitty is just plain happy to be around your wife.
He loves her. My kitties do that too and they are 6 and 7 years old. I call it making bread. The young one does it to my hair and the 7 year old who is all black and weighs 28 pounds lays on my pillow and rubs his nose in my ear. SO HILARIOUS!

It is their way of loving you and it comforts them.
He's just kneading. My cats do it all the time. It just means that he's bonded with her, and like other folks up here have mentioned it's a throwback to nursing from its mother.

My cats do that all the time, usually when they're purring and feeling lovey. The younger one (a siamese mix) likes to do it while he sucks on my hair. He gets kind of frantic about it if I try to dissuade him. Weird, I know.
awwww.kittens would do that to their mother to stimulate the flow of milk from their mothers. it is a great sign of affection.
getting comfy. just like you fluff a pillow at night. its called kneading. but we call it the mash potato dance at our house. just make sure his nails are trimmed so she doesnt get her belly scratched.

this site has a pretty cool answer though.

It's called kneading and it stems from kittenhood. Kittens knead on their mothers bellies to help get milk from the nipple. An adult cat does it simply because it's comforting. Much like a human who never grows out of sucking their thumb.
It's Contentment, he is kneading. Love those red tabbies.
