Cause of bloody cat stool?

My cat has bloody stool. And is rubbing her but on the floor in my house. I'm not quite sure why this is. Another thing, her stool is very hard. Can anybody help?
Answers:
Hi there.occasional blood in the stool can be normal, indicative of minor lower intestinal irritation sometimes from straining while eliminating. Excessive bleeding indicates more severe irritation, which could be parasites, bacterial infection (e.g. coccidia, giardia), cancers and intestinal damage that can cause diarrhea, mucus and blood. If you noticed the blood only once, and all else seems fine, it would be ideal to bring in a stool sample to your veterinarian to have checked for parasites. If it keeps occurring, or if she bleeds a lot, please consider setting an appointment with the doctor.

is it bright red or black? either way take it to the vet immediatly. there can be many causes of why there is blood in her stool. rubbing her butt on the floor could be a sign of worms. i would let your vet get a stool sample, she probably needs medication.
Please take her to the vet. Try feeding her dry cat food.
Maybe you should call a vet.
Sounds like your kitty has worms. Call the Vet, and get a pill.
I agree with seattle's answer.also you can feed some canned pumpkin to help loosten hard stool. If it doesn't get better sonn I would go to the Dr.
HERE'S WHAT CAN I HELP!

First of all, don't panic. Blood in a cat's stool is a sign of something wrong, but it is fairly common as a disease symptom even for minor diseases. It's also called hematochezia.

If the blood is bright red, your cat could have the following issues:

1) It could just be a problem with the stool itself. Sometimes when it's too hard or dry, it can cause minor tears and injuries to the cat's anus coming out. This is a common problem and can be fixed by changing your cat's diet. Wet food can be a good solution to this if your cat will eat it. If not, ask your vet about a dietary supplement or changing brands of cat food.

2) Sometimes cats get bloody stool because of intestinal parasites. Cat tapeworms and cat roundworms are common causes. Usually, though, you will see segments of the worms or the worms themselves in the stool - it won't just be blood. Another parasite to watch out for is feline hookworms. In that case, the blood usually looks dried up by the time it passes.

3) Bacterial infections. Get your vet to test for this - e. coli is a good example of something like this.

4) Mice and rat poison can cause this sometimes, but it usually has other symptoms associated with it such as depression and generally acting sick.

5) Cancers and other major diseases can cause this as a symptom if they do damage to the intestines. You will usually see other symptoms, though.

6) Sometimes it's just nothing - general irritation or just a problem the cat has that's not really caused by anything in particular.

Because it could potentially be serious, it's recommended that you take the cat in for testing.

If the blood looks dark, dry, and generally not fresh, then it is usually a problem with the small intestines caused by viral infection.
hard to say.. worms and parasites (which often cause blood in stools) usually make their stools looser rather than harder.. it could be she is constipated and the size and hardness of her poops is hurting her and causeing bleeding
increase her water intake by offering her canned chicken and rice cat food - 1 teaspoon of food wiht 2 teaspoons of water mixed in to make soup - this is also good for their urinary tract (1 times or 2 times a day)
it could be the food you are feeding - avoid ingredients like Meat Meal (non specific meat could be any dead animal) avoide by-product (beaks feet feathers)
